Reinier de Blois is a Dutch linguist with an MA in African Linguistics (University of Leiden, 1981) and a PhD in Biblical Hebrew Semantics (Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam, 2000).

He is director of the Nida Institute for Biblical Scholarship (with United Bible Societies) and the chief editor of the Semantic Dictionary of Biblical Hebrew.
